Contemporary Christian Music [CCM] is a hit.

CCM is now the 2nd largest radio format in the United States.

Coldplay is one of the reasons why.  And this band understands how to communicate and relate to its fan base.

That’s right.  A completely free download.  According to the band, the give-away is meant as a recession-busting mark of gratitude to everyone who’s supported them:

They’ve done similiar things in the past such as arranging for another completely free give away of the track that bookend another one of their recent albums.

Coldplay has realized the its relationship with its fans is more valuable than actual dollars in the bank right now.  You can bet that these same fans will keep coming back for more when they release future tracks in the future.
